Background
Finca El Puente needs no introduction. Marysabel and Moises are rockstar producers driving quality coffee production in Honduras. We first tasted their washed Java back in 2017, and since then, this coffee has been an annual treat for us.
The Java varietal has a genetic lineage of an Ethiopian landraee, so it shares some flavour similarities to Ethiopian coffees, such as some mild florality and a pleasant herbalness. El Puente’s washed Javas have always had this distinctive green tea flavour note, that sometimes reminds us of matcha. This year, we find some mellow yellow stonefruit, like dried apricot, as a supporting fruit note and a chocolaty sweetness that rounds it off. This is one of our favourite morning coffees, and we hope you’ll enjoy it too.
