Peru - Nehemias Flores

Background

Peru has always been an origin we love to buy coffee from. We love coffees from Peru that are soft in mouthfeel, but distinctive in flavour. This washed yellow Caturra from Nehemias Flores is just that. It has a bright and juicy acidity, supported by a fruity sweetness and a light mouthfeel. Nehemias and his brothers own a collection of farms called Finca El Morito in northern Peru. He is a third generation producer who has grown his mastery over processing and production over the years. This lot we got is from his micro-lot, named after him, and we selected it after cupping a sample of the coffee from our friends at Bero.

We really enjoyed the vibrancy of Nehemias’ coffee. It’s a great everyday coffee, easy to enjoy and perfectly accessible. The juicy acidity and soft fruit flavours of this coffee is a welcome contrast to the bold and strong flavours we have been enjoying from the African, Colombian and Honduran seasons over the last few weeks and months.
