Maria and her husband Wilson are both from coffee-growing families and they acquired their coffee growing skills from their parents. At Santa Elena, their focus is on specialty coffee, where they decided to replace most of their Castillo plants with pink bourbon. As members of Coocentral, a coffee cooperative based in Central Huila, Maria and Wilson are able to benefit from the investment that Coocentral and Nordic Approach puts in to technical support, ongoing guidance, and training for growers.
We always look forward to our pink bourbon purchases from Colombia. It is such an expressive varietal with lots of fruit and florality. Maria and Wilson’s pink bourbon is no exception.
