Peru is always an origin we look forward to receiving harvests from every year. We have found that the cup quality from Peru has been on the rise each year. We decided to purchase Juan’s coffee after we tasted it on the cupping table. It stood out for its distinctive florals and sweetness. This is a soft coffee that bears the aromatic traits we prize in geisha varietals, with a pleasantly weighted mouthfeel that we feel is particular to Peruvian coffees.
Juan’s career in coffee spans over 20 years and his extensive knowledge in coffee farming stems partly from his experience as the president of one of Lonya Grande’s most significant coffee cooperatives, JUMARP. Together with his brother Marcos, a quality grader, they are focused on producing high quality specialty coffees out of their farm.
